For sure this was not a campaign poster. The year has just started. This was part of the give away calendar of the City- maybe to remind the public that the Office still exists. Well, below the calendar were pictures of the various projects that the City has done. Many were not quite sure if these were accomplishments of the previous year or just another recycled projects- those projects that were handed down from generation to generation.
What caught attention was the banner- Ako, Ikaw, Kita: Kalambuan. For a Bisayan speaking, reading the lines was straight forward. But my Chinese friend has a different thing in mind. Even my Ilocano neighbor has. Both pronounced the word KITA with an accent in TA giving a different meaning. They confirmed that the City is only after their INCOME because the poster said so. We can’t blame them.
What I worry most? Those in the City Hall that robs my hard earned KITA.
Hahaha! You said it. Unless the Plazas will be governing Butuan, there wouldn’t be any future for our beloved city. It will get its pride of being a historic place, only that it gets stuck with being prehistoric.
I’m optimistic. there’s still hope. It just maybe not in our time
A lot still need to be changed. Maybe more than ten more elections.
Cheers.
pessimistic idiots!
dont you ever wonder that a lot of change needs to be done also amonng us and not only among the oficials?
those calendars you mentioned are nothing compared to Quezon City where every nook of the city stands permanent structures where their polticos names are engraved.
unsa man pod inyo nahimo sa Butuan in your capacity as citizens?
dili man gani mo maka panhinlo atbang sa inyo mga balay
I can forgive you for calling me idiot. Maybe one of the idiots that religiously and honestly pay his tax. An idiot who obey traffic rules and break no laws.
Hope you can come and visit my humble home to see for yourself. I collect, and pack my own garbage, bring it to the dump site because no one collects them. My “atbang sa balay” is clean than the words that come from your mouth.
I am not asking more from my government. What every citizen need is real service. Is there any thing wrong from that?
I guess, you better take at yourself first, ProButuan. I am not the type who complains too much about the government but my depression of not getting a job left me no choice but to flee out of my hometown. Butuan has nothing to offer me as far as my field is concerned.
The Plazas are there for how many years? Ten? It’s more than a decade but our development is very very slow, that is, if it is really developing.
I’ve done my share as far as being a citizen of Butuan, and of this country is concerned. I abide the rules.
It’s time for the government to give us what we deserve.
And if you know the real meaning of idiot, you’ll better kill yourself in great shame. But then again, I still forgive you.
